World's #1 Ranked Dressage Stallion for 2001 by the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses

Briar 899, both as a young horse and now has always finished in the top. His career started with 2nd and 3rd place finishes at the 5 and 6 year old Swedish Breeders Trophy. He placed 2nd in the 7 year old championships. From there his career has progressed tremendously. He was the youngest horse to compete in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games in what was only his fifth start at Grand Prix. He was 2nd in the 2001 Globen World Cup qualifier with 77.5% in the Kur beating the leading rider Isabell Werth on Anthony. He then placed 6th in the World Cup Final Kur at Aarhus, Denmark. He has top finishes in the European Dressage Championships and has already qualified again, for the 2002 World Cup. Jan Brink and Briar are also invited to compete at the prestigious Kampmann Cup in Bremen where only the top 15 dressage riders will start. He recently achieved his first international wins at the Swedish Championships in Helsinborg and also the CDI Donaueschingen, Germany.
The 2001-year has been very successful and exciting for Jan Brink and Briar. Briar was awarded the "Best Swedish Horse in all Categories" by the Swedish Equestrian Federation. Jan Brink and Briar have for the second year in a row, been awarded Ridsport's "Dressage Horse and Rider of the year". He was also approved for breeding by the German Hanoverian Verband, which looks to be the first time a Swedish horse has been approved in over one hundred years. Brink and Briar finished the year placed 2nd in the World Cup standings. BCM's World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses in the year 2001, places Briar as the 5th ranked dressage horse. For the year 2001, the World Breeding Federation of Sport Horses ranks Briar as the number 1 dressage stallion in the world.

Briar has also shown his ability to pass his talents on to his offspring. Briar's first crop produced Berlioz and Crossy. Berlioz won Sweden's stallion test at Flyinge being the best dressage stallion as well as best total for performance. Both Berlioz and Crossy made the top ten for the Breeders Trophy and the Scandinavian Open, with Berlioz, ridden by Minna Telde winning. Briar has also produced a high percentage  of Diploma mares. His offspring have been exported to USA, Holland, England, Denmark, South America and Norway.
